I think you are looking at it in the wrong way. To share USB devices between computers with their full functionality, USB/IP encapsulates 'USB I/O messages' into TCP/IP payloads and transmits them between computers. USB/IP Project aims to develop a general USB device sharing system over IP network. I've seen this stated in verbatim on OpenWrt & Tomato forums/tutorials. USB over IP (rather, vice-versa) is supposed to be for tethering to your phone, I think?Īctually that is only part of one end resault.
